Xiaomi 12 with 192 MP camera expected

Before the end of this year, the Xiaomi 12 (without Mi) is expected to be a new smartphone series that will succeed the Mi 11. With Mix 4, the Chinese company has already shown what it is capable of. The under-display camera is considerably better compared to the solution from Samsung in the Galaxy Z Fold 3 (for the test). This could soon also apply to the main camera. While Samsung is apparently not planning a major upgrade in this direction in the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Xiaomi wants to set a new benchmark in the 12 Ultra and install a 192 MP camera (Source: GizChina).

Just like with the Mi 11, Xiaomi wants to offer three high-end smartphones with the 12, 12 Pro and 12 Ultra, with the Ultra of course being the spearhead. The new 192 MP camera is to be used there, the one extreme form of 16-to-1 pixel binning supports. Normally you take 12 MP photos with your mobile phone, whereby the individual pixels are made up of 16 physical pixels. The software then turns it into a beautiful photo. According to the insider, Xiaomi also wants to have heavily revised the latter.

The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro should probably continue to use the 108 MP camera. Both phones could also benefit from the new software and maybe a newer version of the 108 MP sensor and so on also increase in image quality.
