Oppo A15 official: budget smartphone from 149 euros
The Oppo A15 is now for sale in the Netherlands for 149 euros, making it one of the cheapest Android phones at the moment. The device is sold at MediaMarkt and Belsimpel and comes in two colors: black and blue.
The affordable phone is particularly notable for its three rear cameras. The primary camera of 13 megapixel supports HDR and has a night mode, so photos should look better in the dark. Also included is a 2 megapixel macro camera for very close-up photos, such as plants or insects. A 2 megapixel depth sensor, which helps to take portrait photos, completes the picture.
- 6.52 inch screen with 1600 by 720 pixels
- Small notch for 5 megapixel selfie camera
- MediaTek Helio P35, 3GB RAM
- 32GB storage space, expandable with micro-SD card
- Three cameras: 13 + 2 + 2 mega-pixel
- 4230 mAh battery lasts a long time
- Runs on Android 10 with ColorOS skin
Furthermore, the Oppo A15 has a 6.52-inch screen with reasonably thin edges and a small notch at the top, which offers space for the 5-megapixel selfie camera. The resolution is relatively low at 1600 by 720 pixels, but this ensures better performance and a longer battery life. The battery is 4230 mAh and charges with a maximum of 10 Watt; fast charging is therefore missing. However, a fingerprint scanner and face recognition are present.
Under the hood of the Oppo A15 is a modest MediaTek Helio P35 processor, which is also found in other budget phones, such as the Motorola Moto G8 Power Lite and LG K61. The processor is helped by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space. The latter is a bit scanty, but you can expand yourself with a micro-sd memory card.
Finally, the Oppo A15 runs on Android 10 with the ColorOS software, which adds all kinds of functions to Android. The new Android 11 is missing, but the smartphone will receive this update later. Oppo also promises an Android 12 upgrade and gives the A15 a security patch every quarter.
