Character creation and customization is going to be downright insane

Saints Row gives you complete freedom in customization. Characters, weapons, cars and your headquarters including crew members can be adapted to your ideas down to the smallest detail with sometimes absurd possibilities. A comprehensive trailer and lots of information on customization provide initial insights.

In Saints Row you can customize pretty much everything

In a trailer that is around five minutes long, the developers at Volition show the extensive customization options of the Saints Row reboot, which will be released on August 23 for PC, Xbox Series X, PS5 and PS4 appears.

You can adjust pretty much everything you can imagine with sliders. For example, if you want to make a green-skinned Shrek blend with fat golden grillz, prosthetic arms and pink socks, that’s easily possible.

The same applies to cars and weapons, which you can customize with numerous upgrades and skins. In addition, there is the design of your headquarters, which changes visually as the story progresses and can also be embellished with decorative objects.

During character creation, you can choose from various presets or build your character from scratch. The gender boundaries are fluid and you can set skin color, outfit, hair, face, body shape and details such as tattoos, voices and personal emotes.

cars

In Saints Row you can find and unlock over 80 vehicles, which can be adjusted both visually and in their performance via upgrades. In addition, each car has a signature ability that you unlock by completing the respective vehicle challenge. Such a signature ability can be an ejection seat, for example.

weapons

Compared to characters and cars, you have fewer customization options for weapons, but you can also carry out both visual and performance-related upgrades here. Give your weapons different skins and decals and improve their strength with upgrades for weapon damage, accuracy, rate of fire and magazine size.

You can also unlock signature skills for weapons by completing weapon challenges.

headquarters

The HQ is your hub area in Saints Row, evolving from a run-down shack to a gleaming fortress as the game progresses. In addition, you can place decorative items such as statues, which you can find and collect as you progress through the game, at predetermined locations in the HQ.

From the headquarters you also have access to your wardrobe, armory and garage. All setting options are linked to your progress in the game and will gradually expand accordingly.
