can he compete with the iPhone 13?
The iPhone 13 Pro will soon have a formidable competitor. On February 9, Samsung will release the Galaxy S22, the Korean tech giant just announced. Can Samsung surpass Apple’s flagship?

Samsung Galaxy S22 vs iPhone 13 Pro
On February 9, Samsung organizes an event (called ‘The Epic Standard’) in which the company launches its new top devices. All sorts of information has already been leaked early. Three new devices are expected: the ‘regular’ S22, the Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the largest new flagship, and the main competitor to the iPhone 13 Pro (Max). Like its predecessor, the phone has a 6.81-inch screen. That is a fraction larger than the display of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which measures 6.7 inches diagonally.
The camera system will be interesting. The S21 Ultra had a camera system with mouth-watering specifications (take the updated 108 (!) megapixel camera), but was still not convincing. With the S22 Ultra, the camera gets an upgrade, with which Samsung hopes to compete more seriously with Apple’s flagship, the iPhone 13 Pro in terms of photo quality.
According to rumors, the zoom lens in particular is improving considerably, and it was already very good. The dual telephoto lens achieves 10x optical zoom, much more than the 3x optical zoom of the iPhone 13 Pro. A new technique called continuous optical zoom should make zoomed photos look even sharper with the S22 Ultra.
design
Fair is fair: when it comes to design, Samsung has done it better for years. While we hope for a punch hole design (and this already seems unfeasible for Apple), the Samsung flagships have had this for years. This is a design where the selfie camera is hidden in a small hole in the screen.
With the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung may go a step further. According to rumors, Apple is working on an invisible selfie camera, which is placed below the display. As a result, the entire front consists of screen and there is not even a camera hole.
Furthermore, Samsung naturally puts in a more powerful and energy-efficient chip: probably an Exynos processor. And again the device has an adaptive 120 Hz screen, as the latest iPhone 13 Pro models also have. The cheaper Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22, by the way, borrow almost the same specs, but have a 50MP main camera (instead of 108) and a smaller screen.
