By 2025, one in five iPhones sold internationally will be made in India

The information comes this time from a local source: if we are to believe the good sources of the information site The Hindu Business Lineby 2025, one in five iPhones sold internationally will be made in India ! This means that over the next two years, iPhone production volume in India is expected to grow by 18% overall, a perfectly plausible percentage in itself. Wistron, Foxconn, and Pegatron would take full advantage of financial incentive programs to increase their production capacity. In 2025, the three suppliers/assemblers should thus enable Apple to increase global iPhone sales by 5%, more than the target of +3.5% that Apple would have set itself.

At the beginning of last April, several sources indicated that Apple had relocated to India 7% of the global production of iPhone (against a target of 5%), a score which had to evolve further over the last two months. “Apple manufactures the latest iPhone models in India, a sign of growing confidence in India’s potential to be one of the major production destinations, as the company aims to diversify manufacturing (of the iPhone, Ed. ) outside of China”, also said analysts at Bank of America. And as a reminder, on June 1, the state government of Karnataka said that the construction of a new Foxconn factory in Bengaluru would start in April 2024, which should lead to the creation of around 50,000 jobs.
