Brutal scandal anime gets Switch game – fans are skeptical
The popular, but also much criticized anime Goblin Slayer gets a video game adaptation for the Nintendo Switch and the PC. However, the fans are unsure whether the game can do justice to the brutal template.
Crunchyroll surprises with video game announcement
When the anime based on the light novel hit Goblin Slayer was released on Wakanim in 2018, there was a lot of screaming on the net. Already in the first episode women were violated and children killed. The rough series also caused some discussions on social media in the weeks that followed.
Ultimately, however, the anime was a complete success, whereupon a cinema film (Goblin Slayer – The Movie: Goblin’s Crown) was produced, which was released in 2020 and was also shown in Germany as part of the Anime Nights. Since then it has become a little quieter around the Slayer. At least until now!
Publisher and streaming provider Crunchyroll has namely announced their own video game based on the anime. This bears the title Goblin Slayer -Another Adventurer- Nightmare Feast and will be released for the Nintendo Switch and the PC. However, no trailer or first footage was shown.
Generally there is Hardly any tangible information about the game. The only thing that has been confirmed is that the story of the game is not based on the light novel and that there will be an English localization.
In Germany, the first season was published by Animoon Publishing:
Goblin Slayers on the Switch? Does it work?
The announcement has already been made on Reddit to some speculation led, because as already mentioned the template is quite brutal and so now fans are wondering what kind of game the goblin slayer game will be.
Expect a hack and slay, an action role-playing game Or is it more of a visual novel?
And how violent will the game get? The release on the Switch certainly makes many fans skepticalas Nintendo still maintains a family-friendly image and the dark world of Goblin Slayer doesn’t quite suit the console.
But one thing makes for general satisfaction: Luckily it’s not a mobile game.
