Brickize turns your photos into LEGO mosaics

They always make your phone look that little bit more personal: wallpapers. In this App of the Week we discuss Brickize, the app that allows you to create LEGO wallpapers from your own photos.

Unofficial LEGO

They are not official LEGO wallpapers, but they are made up of the well-known plastic bricks from Scandinavia. The nice thing is that you can pixelize a photo from your collection. You do have to take care of a fairly colorful photo, because he does have a tendency to quickly choose gray or brown tones. You can see it in the photo below, which was shot against my ultra-green wall, with red lipstick: it quickly dulls it a bit.

You can adjust the size of the LEGO pixels with the slider at the bottom: I would advise you to keep it as small as possible (slide as much to the left as possible) because then you see more detail. I also recommend using an upright photo instead of a horizontal shot. That way nothing falls off the plate.

Brickize is a very simple app, where if you like the wallpaper and you want to save it, you have to watch an advertisement for a few seconds to get saving options. He also needs some time to generate the image, so you have to be patient with Brickize. Still, it’s great that it works and that you don’t have to pay anything extra for it. It is also not necessary to create an account for it.

If you like LEGO very much and you want to build a nice picture of your dog in LEGO bricks, for example, then Brickize is a perfect app. You do need a lot of patience, because it does take him some time to properly analyze your image and make LEGO blocks from the ‘pixels’. In any case, it’s fun to give it a try, so have fun!
