Breakzy shows you useful places next to your route

Whether you’re on your way to the Efteling in the Netherlands or driving from Cannes to Paris in France: sometimes you just need a nice stopover. Now you can use the internet for that, but our App of the Week, Breakzy, is grafted even more specifically to your location. It will help you to find a nice attraction along your route as a break.

Breakzy is a great app. It is one for people who would like to do something spontaneous (although you can also look in advance on your route where you want to make a stop). Very useful if you are doing a euro trip or, for example, have children who are not going to take a 5-hour car ride. You plan your route in the app and you can see what there is to do at a maximum of 10 kilometers deviating from your route. For example, think of a play forest or a picnic spot, but also a village or a cave that is worth a visit.

The freedom of traveling by car is emphasized by Breakzy. Go on an adventure and make the car ride a lot more fun by adding cool stops. You have complete freedom to come and go as you please (although some sights have opening hours of course). Whether it’s for an extended bathroom break or because you really want to stop completely and drive on the next day, Breakzy is bursting with locations for a non-boring rest. There are no fewer than 13,000 places in Europe for a well-deserved stop.

The app is easy to use. You do have to log in to it, but then you can map out a route yourself and you can see exactly what to do where in a beautifully displayed map. As far as we’re concerned, it could be a little more extensive (for example with more beautiful nature stops or special statues or villages), but already you will find a lot of inspiration to do something fun and get out of that car for a while.

Handy icons keep track of what you can find there in terms of activities per location. Think of refueling, eating, peeing, shopping, playing in the playground and visiting nature. You can read (and write) reviews about the locations and usually there is also a short explanation about the location. You can also go straight to the official website of the location, which is very practical because you may want to look up opening times or still want more information about what exactly there is to do.

You can add a location to your route with the tap of a button, so you don’t have to put everything separately in Google Maps. The app looks nice in design, it works well and it is also nice and fast. Certainly an asset to your smartphone, especially if you go out more often in the summer with your car. We know that fuel prices are a bit disappointing at the moment, but with a few nice extra Breakzy stops on your route, you can make your expensive car journey that much more worthwhile.
