Bouygues Telecom: the internet failure affects Nancy and its surroundings is resolved

Since September 28, many Bouygues Telecom subscribers have reported an internet failure in the city of Nancy and its outskirts. The operator’s Fiber and ADSL customers are affected.

On the Zone ADSL site, reports are increasing in the region around Nancy. Many users report a failure of Bouygues Telecom’s internet network. On social networks, several dissatisfied users regret the lack of communication from the operator around this dysfunction. Bouygues Telecom has been stepping up its vigilance lately

In the city of Nancy alone, 235 reports have been identified on the Zone ADSL website. Fiber and ADSL subscribers without distinction suffer a loss of the network. The outage would have started on the evening of September 28 according to some Twitter users and for some it is still not resolved today. For Julien, alternative solutions are used to continue teleworking: I am lucky to have a backup ADSL line from a competitor, but at barely sufficient speed to work. I also have the option of using my phone’s 4G connection, a Bouygues Telecom package as well, which I am fully satisfied with.

Beyond the failure, it is especially the lack of communication of the operator that is singled out while the need for an internet connection is increasingly important. Julien explains to us: ” I did not try to reach customer service. I first looked on the internet to see if other people had the same problem. As it was, I refrained from contacting customer service that must surely be already overwhelmed. According to Arcep’s latest report for 2020, Bouygues Telecom is second in terms of customer satisfaction. However, the operator is not the only one affected by these failures. According to the Parisian, in the Oise, Free and Orange subscribers are also experiencing blackouts. However, here it is an accidentally cut cable which is the cause of this malfunction.

MeilleurMobile contacted the operator’s service. According to the latter, the network has been restored since 13 hours. This follows the cut of an optical fiber cable. A site completely independent of the operator’s control would have made a mistake. Time to replace the cable and voila.
