What’s the matter?

The Japan Football Association is on the hunt for an ace forward after the disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup. For this they call the so-called “Blue Lock” project into being. To do this, they invite the 300 best youth players in the nation to promote them in a training camp and to compete against each other in an elimination tournament.

16-year-old Yoichi Isagi has talent and has long dreamed of turning pro – but he has a hard time controlling his thirst for victory. He too is invited to “Blue Lock” and can hardly believe his luck, but he and everyone else still has a long way to go. Because they are all used to dominating the game as young strikers and now they have to improve their team game and first learn that there is so much more to football than they previously knew.
