Better than ChatGPT? Microsoft integrates artificial intelligence into Bing
Microsoft has revised its search engine. In cooperation with OpenAI, the company has integrated artificial intelligence into the “new Bing”. The AI is said to be even better and more powerful than ChatGPT.
The competition in terms of artificial intelligence is entering the next round: After Alphabet recently reacted to its competitor ChatGPT with its AI Google Bard, Microsoft is now following suit. The tech group presented its “new Bing” at a surprising press conference.

The new Bing is said to be more powerful than ChatGPT
Microsoft has the revised version of its search engines according to their own statements developed in cooperation with OpenAI. The new Bing will therefore run on a language model called Prometheus. It was specially developed for search purposes and is said to be even more powerful than ChatGPT.
Among other things, Prometheus will help to improve the relevance of the answers. In addition, the artificial intelligence should be trained with specific web links and quotations, which should ultimately lead to a better understanding of geolocation.
Bing: Microsoft users can communicate with AI
Thanks to the chat extension, the new Bing should also help users to plan trips and do their shopping. For example, you can talk to the search engine and ask them to look up price recommendations or create itineraries.
In addition, the new Bing should be able to write personal emails. Texts in over 100 languages should also be possible. The AI can also generate quizzes and design social media posts.
More up-to-date than ChatGPT: Bing can ask its own questions
Meanwhile, Microsoft’s web browser Edge will receive Bing integration in the future. Users should be able to communicate with the AI via a chat sidebar. A field on the right side of the search results should also show GPT-based results for search queries for which Bing knows an answer.
Compared to ChatGPT, the Bing model is more up-to-date because the search engine has access to price data and route information, for example. Bing itself should also be able to contact users without a specific request, ask them their own questions and suggest possible answers to them.
ChatGPT: Microsoft wants to place more advertising in the new Bing
Currently, the AI function in the new Bing is still mostly ad-free. But that should change in the future. However, the chat function already displays ads for search queries related to shopping.
Just a few weeks ago, Microsoft invested another ten billion US dollars in the ChatGPT mother OpenAI. The group is now presenting one of the results of the collaboration.
With the investment, however, the company also wants to revise other products such as Excel and Powerpoint. This gives reason to believe that the announcement of the Bing revision will not be the last innovation in terms of artificial intelligence.
The new Bing is now available as a beta version with limited functions. However, there is one waiting list for those who want to take full advantage of the search engine.
