You’re not going to be using the phones every day, so you only want the essentials of what Android has to offer.
This means that you do not want the best of everything, but you would rather have a smartphone that still receives security updates so as not to run any risks. Android manufacturers are required by Google to update their phones for at least two years. Below you will find our selection of cheap phones for festivals and parties.
Best Android Phone for Festivals – Motorola E20
The E-series of Motorola has been known for years for the cheapest devices of the brand. The E20 was introduced in October 2021 and a useful aspect of it is the addition of a fingerprint scanner on the rear. That doesn’t sound very special, but it is with the cheapest Android phones on the market. It has a large 6.5-inch LCD screen and a 1.6-inch octa-core processor. The smartphone works with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
Motorola chose to release the E20 with Android 11 Go, which is a lighter version of the Android operating system. It allows the Alcatel 1B (2022) to work smoothly on lighter hardware. You can even use so-called Go apps, which are simplified versions of well-known apps such as Google Maps and Facebook. You can also just install Go apps in the Play Store and they are made to work smoothly on simple hardware. You can read more about Go apps in this article.
The E20 also has two camera lenses on the back: a 13 MP main camera and a 2 MP macro camera. The phone includes a microSD slot, but this phone does not work with NFC. Interesting is the water-repellent coating, which is not yet the same as waterproof.

Alternatives
The Realme C11 (2021) resembles the Motorola phone in a number of ways. It has a 6.5 inch screen and also works with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The C11 also has an octa-core processor, namely a 1.6 Ghz chipset. Only this phone works on the normal version of Android 11, so the performance may be less.
The battery has a large 5,000 mAh capacity and you can also charge it via a micro-USB port. The phone can also charge other devices if you connect a cable. This can be a useful feature for those who want to help a friend at a party. According to Realme, the C11 has also received a water-repellent coating. The device does not have a fingerprint scanner and comes without NFC. It costs 93 euros and comes in a blue and gray color.
The Alcatel 1B (2022) is the most recent smartphone from our selection, which means that it can count on security updates for longer. The device is a good choice for those who like to take a compact phone with them. It has a 5.5 inch LCD screen.
Alcatel runs the device with a quad-core MediaTek Helio A22, which is a 2.0 Ghz processor, 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. The device runs on Android 11 Go. The Alactel 1B has a 3,000 mAh battery, which is more than enough for a phone with light specifications and a relatively small screen. Charging is possible via micro USB. There is also a microSD slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The phone is an excellent choice for its price, unless you really want to pay contactless with the device. It comes without NFC support and there is no fingerprint scanner. The Alcatel 1B (2022) is available in a dark blue shade and costs 99 euros.
The Alcatel 1S (2021) was published more than a year ago and that is immediately the biggest disadvantage of this device, because it will receive updates for less than a year. The 1S (2021) has a 6.5-inch LCD and a 1.8-inch octa-core chipset that is slightly more powerful compared to the competitors in this price range. It runs on Android 11 Go and has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
The battery is a 4,000 mAh one, but three camera lenses are also striking: a 13 MP camera assisted by a 2 MP depth camera, good for – portrait photos at a festival – and a 2 MP macro camera. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back, but this phone also works without NFC.
