Waze improved, games and work profiles

Android Auto can now entertain you with games while you wait on the side of the road. Waze has been given a complete facelift in Android Auto and new is that the software also offers support for work profiles and calling via dualsim. These are the three novelties.

1. Waze renewed

Waze has received a much-needed update in Android Auto, Google announced in its blog post. Not only has the interface been given a nice refresh, but a number of features have been added that were very welcome.

First of all, support for the dark mode, but the app now also works with touchpad control in the car. Those who drive a lot on the highway will also be happy with the lane guidance that steers you in the right direction at a difficult exit. Furthermore, Waze has built the new interface so that the focus is on the map and instructions, and less on the other elements of the interface.

2. Game Snacks

Let’s face it, if you’re waiting in the car on the side of the road, there are plenty of ways to keep yourself from getting bored. You can listen to a podcast, discover some music or just use your phone, because then you are safely on the side.

Still, Google wants Android Auto to entertain you with a series of games called ‘GameSnacks’. they are all simple games, but there is a large selection, and you can view it here. Previously, Google also released voice-controlled games for Android Auto, and you can even try them while driving.

3. Work profiles and dualsim

This one has been coming for a while, but Android Auto finally offers support for work accounts. From now on, all apps that belong to your work account will simply be displayed in the interface of Android Auto. You can recognize them thanks to the icon with the briefcase that is visible.

Those who use two SIM cards in their phone will also be pleased to hear that Android Auto now works with dual SIM. Just like it works on your phone, you can now choose which SIM card you want to use when making a call.
