WeNote

WeNote’s interface is somewhat similar to Google Keep, and the app inherits a lot of functions; including the ability to add attachments to notes and work with labels and colors. Still, WeNote comes with a number of advantages compared to Google’s app.

First of all, WeNote brings more options for text formatting. There are two fonts and five font sizes. In addition, the app has different themes and display options for the overview of your notes. You can make a copy of your notes or pin a note to the top of your phone’s notifications. Another special feature is that you can lock your notes using the fingerprint scanner. The app can sync your notes in Google Drive.

WeNote is free, but if you want access to all themes and a widget, you have to choose the paid version. This works via a one-off purchase where you purchase functions separately or a so-called combi-deal, although it is quite pricey. The free version may already be sufficient for you.

Magic Earth advertises itself as a privacy-friendly navigation app that does not track its users or create profiles. All map data comes from OpenStreetmaps, and the app works for those who go by car, walk, cycle, or take public transport.

Interestingly, this app lets you choose between a 2D, 3D or satellite map view. The 3D view can help you navigate more easily. In addition, the app offers support for offline maps and a smart dashcam function that also warns you of dangers. Magic Earth notifies you about speed cameras on your route so you can avoid costly fines. Finally, when you arrive at your destination, you can discover parking spaces nearby. The app also has an integration with Wikipedia, so you can learn more about your destination.

For Good is an app that confronts you hard with your carbon footprint. Do you often take the car? Are your holidays always by plane? Then wet your chest. The app makes you think about what kind of energy you use, how often you take the car, and so on. The advantage is that it is not very pedantic, but therefore somewhat confrontational.
