Battlefield 2042 Beta doesn’t promise much yet, does it?

The open beta of Battlefield 2042 is going wild, but according to some fans it is a mess. Is that actually true?

Battlefield 2042 is back with the first publicly playable version of the already delayed game. Anyone who has been hoping for a contemporary BF game for years will be extremely pleased with the game. But based on the Battlefield 2042 beta, the game is completely destroyed by many gamers. What exactly is going on?

Battlefield 2042 Beta raises doubts

The beta of the latest Battlefield went live on Wednesday morning for EA Play members and those who pre-ordered the game. After an hour or two, the expected connection problems were resolved. Still, the game continued to show some major problems, beta testers on Reddit complained.

The game contains some annoying bugs. Think of visual glitches, very poor performance and certain buttons (like the M button for the map) that don’t work. Also, one of the hilariously frustrating bugs is the “always shoot” bug. The player’s weapon fires continuously, without further input or action from the player himself. No update for the Battlefield 2042 beta has been made so far.

But not for everyone…

Still, the story about the bugs requires some nuance. In my first 7 hours of gameplay I literally had one soft crash where I had to reconnect to the servers. I have not encountered any bugs at all.

The main issues with the beta are bugs in the beta version of the game. Think of the M button and all the other General buttons (such as chat and voice chat) that don’t work. Yes, that should work, but it’s a beta after all.

What is clear from the beta for fans of the franchise is that Battlefield is back with 2042. After some historic versions of the game (and the flopped Hardline), fans have been craving a sequel to Battlefield 4 for years. And that’s 2042 without a doubt. And don’t forget all the new brilliant features. Like the PLUS system, for example, which allows you to adjust your weapon at any time. Such innovations are incorporated throughout the game and I think that makes it a wonderful new Battlefield. Yes, there are problems, but for a beta, at least for a group without too much accident, everything is just rock solid.
