battery capacity is known (and bigger than ever)

We already knew that the latest iPhones excel in battery life. Now it is also known what the battery capacity of the new iPhone 13 models are.

iPhone 13 battery capacity

One of the highlights of the iPhone 13 series is the improved battery life. The iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 Pro last 1.5 hours longer on a battery charge than their predecessor, Apple reported during the unveiling. With the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max, that is even two and a half hours.

The tech giant did not disclose the exact battery capacity. Fortunately, many YouTubers make it a hobby to disassemble the latest models, so we know what the battery capacity is:

iPhone 13 Pro Max: 4,352 mAh
iPhone 13 Pro: 3,095 mAh
iPhone 13: 3,227 mAh
iPhone 13 mini: 2,406 mAh

With a battery capacity of 4,352 mAh, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has by far the largest battery ever in an iPhone. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is in second place with a capacity of 3687 mAh; the iPhone 11 Pro Max completes the top three with 3500 mAh.

The base model is also greatly improved. With a capacity of 3,227 mAh, the battery of the iPhone 13 is much larger than that of the iPhone 12, which had a battery with a capacity of 2815 mAh.

Battery life iPhone 13

With the Pro models, the battery life improves the most. The battery life of an iPhone also depends on the screen type. And the iPhone 13 Pro (Max) got ProMotion screen that is more energy efficient.

And so it is possible that the battery of the iPhone 13 Pro is slightly smaller than the iPhone 13, but the battery life is still better. On the website, Apple reports approximately how long you can play video per model. This gives a good idea of what you can expect from the battery:

iPhone 13 Pro Max: 28 hours of video playback.
iPhone 13 Pro: 22 hours of video playback.
iPhone 13: 19 hours of video playback.
iPhone 13 mini: 17 hours of video playback.
