AW Poll: Do you already have a video doorbell at home?
Smart home products are on the rise, and this is also noticeable in the various models of video doorbells that are storming the Dutch and Belgian market. We wondered if you already have such a smart doorbell next to your front door.
Video doorbells
You can find them in all shapes and sizes, the video doorbells. There are often many differences between manufacturers and models. For example, some brands choose to store video images of visitors at your front door in the cloud and they link a paid subscription to it. Other doorbells work with local storage via microSD or a separate base station in your house.
Then you have to ask yourself the question with which platforms the video doorbell in question works correctly. Can you link it to Google Home or does it only work via Alexa? This question is important if you already have a Google Nest Hub at home and would like to view images of your front door on the screen.
The Arlo Essential Wire-free Video Doorbell
Obviously, there are plenty of other features that matter. Some video doorbells come with a smart recognition that distinguishes people from objects and the resolution of the camera also plays a role. You also want to know whether you can also communicate remotely with the person at your front door. Arlo recently released a video doorbell that comes with a siren feature. You can have video calls with the visitor at your front door or you can have a voicemail message recorded when you are absent.
