AVM announces Fritzbox 6850

AVM is bringing the Fritzbox 6850 5G onto the market in the summer. This is a new all-in-one router for the 5G cellular standard.
The Fritzbox 6850 5G is a WLAN router for the European outback. It supports both the 5G bands in the sub-6 GHz range and LTE-Advanced-Pro for all common LTE bands. This enables fast to very fast data connections even where no DSL or other cable-based solutions are available.
If the fast 5G network is actually available at the location, which is only likely to be the case in Germany in exceptional cases, the data connection via Fritzbox 6850 5G is also suitable for real-time applications such as virtual reality and gaming or stable video connections in the home office.

Home network according to the Fritzbox standard
The new Fritzbox is not stingy with functions within the network to be supplied. It can manage four wired gigabit connections as well as those via dual band WLAN AC + N with up to 1,266 Mbit / s. As usual with the older Fritzboxes, external hard drives or printers can be connected via the USB port.
The integrated telephone system also corresponds to the Fritzbox standard. In addition to a connection for analog telephones and functions such as call forwarding and answering machine, it also includes a DECT base. These can be used to connect up to six cordless telephones and numerous smart home solutions. In addition, the 6850 5G uses the current version of the Fritz OS and thus also offers features such as firewall, child safety and WLAN guest access.
Alignment aid determines the optimal position
The integrated alignment tool is a valuable aid, as it helps users to determine the optimal location and the best alignment of the cellular antennas. If necessary, external antennas can be attached via two SMA connectors.
In Germany, the Fritzbox 6850 5G will be available in stores during the summer. AVM has not yet named a price.
