Automatic dark mode for Facebook Messenger coming soon

Dark mode support for Facebook apps seems like a never-ending story. The company first tested it for Messenger for months and in April 2019 released it to users. To everyone’s disappointment, however, the display mode had to be switched manually. But that should be over soon.

Information about the news from the workshop of the California company appeared on the Reddit forum, where it was shared by one of the local “residents”. He also substantiated his claim with a screenshot Application settings. It clearly shows that it refers to the dark mode setting for Messenger. There is a choice turn on, turn off a System. Below these options, a small font indicates that if you select System, the dark mode will be activated according to the settings in the phone. This simple step is automatic dark mode for Facebook Messenger active.

What does this mean in practice? For example, if you accidentally turn on Messenger in the evening, you won’t be blinded by the bright white. Conversely, if you go out with your phone, it will not be necessary to “solve” on the dark screen who and what is writing to you.

Auto Dark Mode for Facebook Messenger should be available in application version 314.1.0.19.119, however, I personally did not add a new item in the settings. Other users are in a similar situation. It is therefore possible that the company decided to expand the function gradually, as was the case with the new look of the web version of the social network.
