While the American giant Google was busy testing the beta versions of the upcoming Android 12, some manufacturers have not yet updated their devices to Android 11. This case also applies to the Asus ROG Phone 3. It is a great gaming smartphone with notoriously excellent speakers. Such a good phone deserved an update even earlier, but what can be done. At least she’s reached a few pieces and is slowly spreading. The GSMAren technology web portal informed about this fact.

Asus ROG Phone 3 and Android 11: We finally got the update!

Asus has started releasing an update for users of the Asus ROG Phone 3 gaming smartphone. It has been running on Android 10 so far. So it’s great that the update is coming at all, although so late, isn’t it? It’s a bit complicated because Android 11 is currently only released on devices that are sold in the Taiwanese market.

The update will reach other countries and regions, including Europe and Slovakia, in a few weeks, at best during the next month. We expect users not to have to wait a very long time for the notification of an available update to reach them. The new firmware name is WW-18.0410.2105.133 and since this is a major update, the package is up to 2.72 GB in size, which is quite normal.

It brings everything you could expect from a clean version of the Android 11 operating system. The Zen UI add-on adds several graphical elements and functions that easily belong to gaming smartphones. The question remains whether people using the Asus ROG Phone 3 will be updated on Android 11 before Google itself officially announces a stable version of Android 12.

The competition is definitely better, compared to Asus. It is significantly dominated by Samsung, which recently released a July security update for the Samsung Galaxy A52 and Samsung Galaxy A72. Xiaomi Mi 9 then received an update to the version of the user superstructure MIUI 12.5, which is of course built on the Android 11 operating system.

Finally, we will also mention the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, which also received Android 11 at a later date. By the way, this is also the last major Android update that this smartphone will receive. Only patch, security updates will follow.
