As of today you can make vaccination proof in CoronaCheck app: this is how it works

As of today, it is possible to make a vaccination certificate in the CoronaCheck app. The announcement came on Friday during the press conference. You can travel more easily with a vaccination certificate and to events without a negative test certificate.

CoronaCheck app: create vaccination certificate

The CoronaCheck app is getting an extra option today, and an important one. As of today, Dutch people can make a vaccination certificate in the application. With the application itself you can prove that you are not infected with the coronavirus. This may be because you have been tested negative, have had a vaccination or have had corona in the past six months. It has been possible for a while via the app to load a negative test certificate, and from today, Thursday 24 June, you can use the application to create a vaccination certificate.

You can create a vaccination certificate by logging into the app with your DigiD. In this way, the vaccination data can be retrieved in the systems of the RIVM or another system. The result is converted into a QR code. When you want to access an event, all you have to do is have the QR code scanned. Whoever scans it won’t see if you’ve been vaccinated or tested negative. The CoronaCheck app is already being used as an access test.

From 1 July, the QR code in the CoronaCheck app can also be used for travel, whereby the application serves as a travel ticket. Agreements have been made in the European Union for this. It is not a substitute for any mandatory quarantine, if these requirements are set by a country. This may be necessary to gain entry to another country within the European Union. For that reason, the app is also seen as a corona passport or vaccination passport. By the way, adding a negative test only works if you have been tested at the GGD, not if you have been tested via a commercial provider.
