Arrival completes the first test run with its autonomous vehicles

If it is up to various companies in the mobility sector, then we are only a few years away from an autonomous future. It is therefore no wonder that companies such as Waymo or Cruise have been in the starting blocks for a long time, along with many other competitors, the Arrival company is also pushing into the market. The latter has now successfully tested a transporter.

The company, which comes from London and North Carolina, was able to test its first experiences in a field test. For several years now, the company has been focusing on the topics of sustainability, scalability and cost-effectiveness. With your own transporter, this should soon work in hubs of the logistics industry.

Initially, it is not primarily about replacing jobs, but rather about avoiding accidents on the company premises. Because especially on narrow streets and when there are many obstacles, people can quickly react impatiently or prematurely, which can result in accidents.

Previously tested scenarios are now to be expanded step by step. More tests will be done in the next few months, after which a test on public roads in the UK could be due. In addition to the vans, Arrival also manufactures electric buses. Orders are already in progress, and it will soon be possible to dash through the streets autonomously.

Own opinion:

The last few years have shown that many companies are already very serious about autonomous driving. More and more vehicle models are presented to the public, so it is only a matter of time before the investment in the technology has to pay off. Because only a driving autonomous vehicle is a vehicle that also flushes money into the tills.
