Arnie owes a lot to this action franchise – but the last part is disappointing

If there’s one franchise that Arnold Schwarzenegger made great, it’s this action blockbuster series. We’ll tell you where you can watch the latest installment on TV.

“I’ll be back!” – Arnie kept his promise and returned in the sixth part of the legendary “Terminator” series “Terminator: Dark Fate” return. Also back is Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor. Mackenzie Davis completes the cast (“Blade Runner 2049”). This time, the latest Terminator is about the hybrid cyborg human Grace, who, together with Sarah Connor, has to protect a young woman from a liquid Terminator from the future. And of course Arnold Schwarzenegger returns with the T-800. In addition to the legendary quote “I’ll be back” from the first Terminator film, the native Austrian has also coined many other quotes in the course of his career – we have collected the best ones for you here.

“Terminator” – in the future without Arnie?

A seventh part of the “Terminator” series is eagerly awaited. There are already trailers for a supposed seventh film on YouTube, but these are all made by fans and have nothing to do with an actual film. In the future, however, the “Terminator” will have to do without the T-800. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporters Arnold Schwarzenegger said he won’t be in any more “Terminator” movies:

“The franchise isn’t done yet. It’s me. (…) The Terminator was largely responsible for my success, so I will always look at it lovingly. The first three films were great. In the fourth [„Terminator: Die Erlösung“] I wasn’t in it because I was governor. Five [„Terminator: Genisys“] and six [„Terminator: Dark Fate“] have not, as I see it, closed the matter. We knew that beforehand because they just weren’t well written.”

The fact that their favorite robot will no longer be seen on the big screen should be a disappointment for many fans. However, the plans for the other “Terminator” films should be anything but boring. writer and director JamesCameron already talked about his ideas for the films and revealed at Dell Tech World in May 2023that he is already working on the screenplay of a new “Terminator”. However, he would still take some time to see how artificial intelligence develops in the here and now, since that would also be the focus of the story.
