Are these iPhones going to disappear this year? (iPhone News #16)

Three iPhones are likely to leave the field this year. Why? Because the iPhone 14 family will appear in a few months. Here’s the most important Apple and iPhone news from last week.

Read on after the ad.

Apple may pull these three iPhones from sale in 2022

Every year, Apple proudly announces new iPhones. As that happens, the tech company is quietly pulling older models off the shelf. That will also happen this year, but which versions will be ‘victim’?

If we go by previous years, we think that three iPhones will leave the field: the iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max and the iPhone 11.

These iPhones will (probably) disappear in 2022

‘iPhone 16 Pro gets spectacular full-screen design’

No notch, camera hole or other recess. In the design of the iPhone 16 Pro that Apple will launch in 2024, the front consists only of screen. This reports the reliable Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo.

“I think the first full-screen iPhone will be released in 2024,” Kuo wrote on Twitter. With the high-end iPhone of that year, Apple would place the parts needed for Face ID behind the screen. There’s even an under-display selfie camera.

Molds reveal iPhone 14 dimensions (and disappoint a bit)

Molds for cases for the new iPhone 14 line have been leaked via the Chinese social network Weibo. These confirm the sounds we have been hearing for a long time; the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro are 6.1 inches in size. The iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Max Pro have a diagonal of 6.7 inches.

The great absentee: the iPhone 14 mini. Apparently the 5.4-inch models of the previous flagships didn’t sell well enough. Apple is removing these from the lineup. That is not surprising, because the iPhone 13 mini seems to be selling very poorly.

iPhone SE 2022 continues to disappoint: what should Apple do?

iPhone SE 2022

We heard from previous sources that Apple had scaled down production of the iPhone SE 3. Now there are new studies showing that the iPhone SE 2022 isn’t selling as well as the Cupertino company originally calculated.

A survey by wave7 among stores and online providers of Apple’s budget phone shows that the iPhone SE 3 is less in demand than its predecessors. Only 10 percent of sellers report that demand has actually increased.

Why does the iPhone SE 2022 continue to sell so poorly?

Control Apple Watch with one hand – that’s how it works with AssistiveTouch

apple watch assist touch

With the Apple Watch you have a small touchscreen on your wrist. But you always need two hands to operate it. You wear the Apple Watch on one arm, while you use the other hand to tap and swipe the screen. But what if that doesn’t work?

Recently, Apple has a solution for this. With AssistiveTouch, you no longer need an extra hand to use your Apple Watch. The feature was added with watchOS 8 and works entirely through hand gestures.
