How do they sound?
One of the spearheads of the Teufel Airy TWS earplugs should therefore be the sound. Teufel would like to get this right with linear HD drivers with relatively large diaphragms. This may all sound like music to my ears, but in practice it was a bit disappointing to me. Music sounds quite dull for the price of the earplugs and it seems to come from far away. This is partly because the spaciousness in the high and mid tones and the voices is not ideal. With the AIRY TWS earphones, it often seems as if the singer is behind you. The bass is also present, but it does not last either.
Wearing comfort
The AIRY TWS are in-ears, so they go deep into your ear canal. As a result, a lot of outside noise is passively filtered. And this is nice since they do not have ANC – active noise canceling. The earphones do have specially shaped eartips that are made of antibacterial silicone. The domes are available in five sizes, so there should be a suitable size for everyone. You will notice that the materials used for the AIRY TWS earphones are quite cheap. In my opinion, Teufel could have opted for firmer and more durable plastic.
Battery and controls
According to Teufel, the battery of the earphones should last six hours with one charge. With the charging case you can get up to 26 hours in total. This turns out to be largely true. A small trick of Teufel is that you can view the battery level display on the charging case. You can see this in the short video below.
The Airy TWS can be used via touch control. They are standard gestures such as tapping the ears once for pause, twice for next song and three times for previous song. You can also adjust the volume and answer calls, among other things. Unfortunately, the controls don’t work very well. The earphones do not give you any feedback and respond quite slowly to touch. As a result, you sometimes press several times, so that you accidentally skip a song, when you only wanted to pause it, for example.
Conclusion and alternatives
The Teufel Airy TWS earplugs are for sale for 99 euros and available immediately on the manufacturer’s website. With this price, the earphones compete against, among others, the Nothing Ear (stick), the Galaxy Buds Pro and the JBL Live Pro 2. The latter two have ANC – active noise canceling – which effectively filters out disturbing noise from outside. The AIRY TWS have to do with passive noise suppression. The Ear (stick) sound a lot better and richer than these Airy TWS earplugs. Although the Ear (sticks) must fit well in your ears. You can read exactly how this works in the review of the earphones.

Who can I recommend these Teufel Airy TWS earplugs to? To answer this right away: I find that a difficult one. The earphones mentioned above are about the same price, offer more and are therefore better alternatives. In addition, you can buy earphones like the Galaxy Buds 2 for a lot less money. A set that sounds a lot better, offers more options and is slightly more luxuriously designed. Doesn’t change the fact that the Airy TWS earplugs are great earphones that last a long time, passively seal sound well and are available in several sizes. If the price will drop by about thirty euros over time, then the Airy TWS are a much better deal and you get a great set of earplugs at home.
