Aptera will probably not deliver its SEV until 2023 or 2024 in many places

Many people are now paying particular attention to a Californian car manufacturer: Aptera. We have already reported to you here several times about the futuristic SEV (Solar Electric Vehicle), which should soon be on the roads around the world. The last status was not a few weeks ago, at that time it still looked as if mass production would start soon.

However, after we got a glimpse of the beta variant, many who pre-ordered a vehicle were greeted with a less than encouraging message on the reservation page. Deliveries are scheduled between 2023 and 2024. So a jaunt this year seems to be off the table for many.

This is going in a slightly different direction, the company only recently announced that they are still on schedule and will start delivery this year despite delivery bottlenecks due to the corona crisis. A new 7,500 square meter production site should ensure this.

Just recently we saw the latest beta variant of the vehicle (Image: Aptera)

When asked by the online magazine Electrek, Aptera announced that little had changed as a result of the ad. It is planned that the first pre-orders of the “Paradigm Edition” will receive their vehicle in 2022, with delivery in the United States to begin by early 2023 at the latest. Buyers in other countries still have to be patient, the company continues.

Because initially the output of the factory is to increase to 40 units per day, then hopefully customers outside the United States can also be served from 2024. So nothing changes for early pre-orderers, but those interested outside of the USA should still be annoyed.

Nevertheless, even those customers who were among the first hundred pre-orders will receive a notification about a delivery in 2023 or 2024. So it remains exciting whether Aptera can actually deliver here. Reservations for the vehicle remain open. If you have 100 dollars at hand, you can already invest 2 years in the future today.
