Apple will release the next iPad Pro this year

The iPad Pro, which will apparently be in the shops this year, also comes with some nice new functions.

This year we can expect the new Apple iPad Pro. This is the expectation of Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. He elaborates on this in his latest newsletter. He says the tablet will come with some new features.

A new iPad Pro this year

Gurman expects the tablet to come with MagSage inductive charging and will feature Apple’s as yet unannounced M2 chip. Other websites also confirm this, so it looks like it will.

At the company’s latest hardware event, the iPad Air and iPad Pro will both feature M1 chips. Apple last updated the iPad Pro in 2021 to add 5G and Thunderbolt connectivity. And the first-generation Apple Silicon system-on-a-chip. The Pro still looks the same as the 2018 design, when the company revamped the tablet to give it its now iconic edge-to-edge display. Since then, Apple has rolled out that design to most of its other tablets, including the iPad mini.

Details

We don’t know a lot about the details of the M2 chip yet. What we do know is that it has gone into production. Most reports suggest the M2 will feature the same eight-core CPU layout as its predecessor, while being faster and more efficient thanks to the new manufacturing process. The experts do not agree on whether the tablet will receive major design changes. Hopefully the Pro will be built a bit more sturdy than the little brothers.
