Apple will release larger iPhone SE with 5.7-inch screen in 2023

The iPhone SE remains a fine device, but the 4.7-inch screen is very small in 2022. According to a new rumor, Apple will finally release a larger version next year. It would have a 5.7 inch display.

‘Larger iPhone SE on the way’

Do you not need the latest of the latest, but do you think the current iPhone SE is a bit too small? Then we may have good news. According to insider Ross Young, which often spreads correct information about future Apple products, the tech giant is working on a larger variant of the SE. It may be on the market as early as 2023, although it could also be 2024.

According to Young, Apple hesitated between a 5.7 or a 6.1-inch screen. The choice would have fallen on 5.7 inches. That seems like a logical decision. This makes the affordable device slightly smaller than the more expensive models such as the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro.

Nothing is yet known about the design and specifications of the larger iPhone SE. If Apple keeps the Touch ID button and the hefty bezels, the smartphone could potentially be slightly larger than the iPhone 8 Plus. It had a 5.5-inch screen. When the next SE gets a more modern design with Face ID, it may be a slightly smaller version of the iPhone 11 Pro.

The current iPhone SE

First a ‘small’ iPhone SE

Apple is expected to release a new ‘small’ iPhone SE 2022 this spring. It probably has the same 4.7-inch LCD screen as the current model. It does get a new processor. It would be the A15 Bionic, which we also find in the iPhone 13 models. According to Young, the device may be called the ‘iPhone SE+ 5G’. We take that rumor with a grain of salt. Apple has never added the term “5G” to the name of its products.
