Apple Watch Series 8: measure blood sugar

We’ve heard it before: the Apple Watch will have a function to measure your blood sugar. But now it really seems to be happening. Apple (together with suppliers) is busy developing new infrared sensors. These will soon be in the Apple Watch Series 8, with which the glucose in the blood can be measured.

Before the release of the Apple Watch Series 7, expectations were also tense for a long time and it was rumored that the smartwatch would have an option to measure your blood sugar. Apple Insider Mark Gurman however, quickly dispelled this rumor.

Apple still faces a small task for actually realizing the blood sugar measurement. To measure the glucose level in the blood, a drop of blood and a measuring strip (or similar) are used. We’ll have to wait and see how Apple will measure this by means of a sensor. It would especially be a godsend for diabetics, because they no longer have to walk with a lancing device in their pocket.

Apple Watch Series 8 Rumors

What Apple has in the planning for the Watch Series 8 (other than measuring blood sugar) remains a mystery. The Watch Series 7 would have been given a completely new design, but that did not materialize. Perhaps the new Watch will get a revised design. The Apple Watch Series 8 is rumored to be coming in an extra large size.

However, there have been more rumors about the successor to the Series 7. The Apple Watch Series 8 will also get a robust case, aimed at extreme sports practitioners. The watch may also have a temperature sensor. There is also a chance that the Series 8 will have a blood pressure monitor, but we have been hearing this rumor for years.
