Apple Watch becomes a better health monitor
An Apple Watch can already help you with your health, but new features should improve this even further.
An Apple Watch is a great way to get some of the features of your phone on your wrist, but the device can also help with a healthier lifestyle. Keeping track of how far you run, your heart rate and other small health features has been a feature of the Watch for years.
Even more health on your Apple Watch
Your Apple Watch to measure your health just got a little better. New sensors are coming to the smartwatch to get extra features. An important new sensor is the blood pressure monitor. With this you can measure your blood pressure (duh), but also make observations about your blood pressure, for example when your blood pressure is dangerously low and you have to do something about it. There is also a wish to be able to diagnose diabetes, but this has not yet been confirmed when the blood pressure monitor rolls out. More about that rollout later. First, that there would also be a thermometer, to help with the fertility measurements.
Not with Watch 7
The new measurements for your health from the Apple Watch will not appear with the Apple Watch 7, the Wall Street Journal reports. As mentioned, the blood pressure monitor and thermometer is most likely for next year. After that, Apple also wants to move to even more sensors and features, including being able to determine sleep apnea. It is not yet known when we will see that.
