Apple unveils 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro with new design at WWDC

Although WWDC is mainly about software, Apple also seems to be presenting new hardware on Monday. An analyst states that the renewed MacBook Pro will see the light of day on Monday.

MacBook Pro 2021 unveiled at WWDC keynote

The rumor comes from Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives. Based on his sources, he claims that Apple has “some surprises” at Monday night’s WWDC keynote. In addition to iOS 15, watchOS 8, macOS 12 and other software updates, the company would finally show the completely redesigned MacBook Pro.

Apple would present both a 14- and a 16-inch model at the same time. Thanks to leaked schematics and a good dose of rumors, we already have a pretty good idea of these new Macs. For the first time since 2016, the design is being overhauled, with a design that is more in line with the iPhone 12 and iPad Pro 2021 with sharper edges.

In addition, the Touch Bar is deleted and the physical function keys return. This MacBook Pro will also have all kinds of connections in addition to USB-C. Leaked info has revealed that HDMI and SD card connections are returning to the MacBook Pro for the first time since 2015. As a result, you will need an adapter less often.

Ives writes that this MacBook Pro also runs on Apple’s M1 chip, although that is unlikely. The MacBook Pro that appeared at the end of last year also ran on this processor, so it makes more sense that Apple has now developed a more powerful, new version of this chip.
