Apple is undoubtedly one of the most popular brands in Germany when it comes to smartphones and notebooks. But how many Germans actually have an iPhone or MacBook? A new survey shows that Apple is already way ahead in some areas – and still has some catching up to do in others.

Apple survey: iPhone particularly popular

Apple products and services are part of everyday life for many. The US group is at the top when it comes to customer satisfaction – but so is the competition from Samsung. Now a large survey by Statista Consumer Insights shows which ones Apple products and services most popular in Germany are. 6,000 people aged 18 and over were surveyed between January and December 2022.

That is hardly surprising iPhone in the list in first place to find. A full 32 percent of respondents said they own or use an iPhone. The iPad is also popular, with one in four respondents saying they use one in the home. For AirPods wireless headphones, it’s 18 percent.

MacBooks are represented in 12 percent of households, with Macs it is exactly half at 6 percent. HomePods, on the other hand, have not caught on: just 3 percent said they use one. The Apple Watch on the wrist is significantly more popular at 10 percent.

Apple Music most popular service

Music and series streaming from Apple has similar popularity ratings in Germany. 10 percent of those surveyed are Apple Music customers, and 9 percent are Apple TV+ customers. Orders via Apple’s online shop were also carried out by 9 percent.

At Apple Pay apparently the group still has some catching up to do in Germany. Only 7 percent of the participants in the survey stated that they use the payment service (Source: Statista Consumer Insights).
