Apple Reality may require AirPods (and more)

More and more is becoming known about Apple’s first VR headset. Apple Reality – so the possible name – may require AirPods to use. What else do we know?

Apple Reality will be released this year

We made the prediction before: the first version of Apple Reality, Apple’s first VR glasses, seems to be coming this year. A number of new features of the glasses have now been leaked. What do we now know about VR glasses?

VR goggles may require AirPods

According to the latest rumors, it may be required to wear AirPods if you have the Apple Reality on. The AirPods Pro 2 are equipped with the fast H2 chip, which has a function that works together with the H2 chip in the VR glasses. This means you get the sound from the VR glasses with little to no delay, the biggest advantage of the H2 chip.

Apple’s decision to mandate AirPods was made with privacy in mind. The Apple Reality does have its own speakers, but they can easily be listened to in public. Wearing AirPods solves this problem. It is therefore expected that all new AirPods will be equipped with the H2 chip.

Apple Reality band not easy to change

The strap with which the VR glasses are attached is not expected to be easy to change. With the Apple Watch it is possible to change straps, but this is not so easy with VR glasses. The strap probably contains electrical parts or even the battery, so important parts for the glasses.

Of course, this does not mean that the tire cannot be replaced at all. The band will probably appear in different colors, but will be a lot more expensive than a band for the Apple Watch. Moreover, due to the important parts in the tire, the question remains how easy it is to replace.

Incredibly sharp image for both eyes

The glasses will have 4K micro-LED screens for both eyes. This means that you have an incredibly sharp image with the glasses on, making it feel like you’re in the movie, series or game you’re playing at that moment. And the big advantage of micro-LED: the image quality does not deteriorate.

The glasses must also be able to track your eyes, so that the VR glasses have direct feedback of your reaction to a game, for example. This way, developers can respond even better to looking away during a movie or being frightened during a horror game. The Apple Reality probably runs on the M2 chip.

Apple Reality gets Apple Watch crown

The control of Apple Reality is also slowly becoming clearer. The VR glasses get the same Digital Crown that we already know from the Apple Watch and AirPods Max, so you can easily operate the glasses. Apple is also working on several control methods in the form of a controller, but not much is clear about this yet.

The glasses are mainly made of materials such as aluminum and glass. With these materials, Apple tries to keep the weight of the glasses low, so that wearing comfort is promoted and you can easily take the glasses with you.

This is how much the Apple Reality will cost

Now the big question remains: how much will the VR glasses cost? So far, the price of the Apple Reality is estimated at $ 3000. This means that it is not glasses for the general public, but Apple mainly focuses on companies. For example, it is possible to use the glasses for online meetings and other online environments.

How the glasses will be used further remains to be seen, but it is certain that the VR glasses are getting closer. We are very curious how the Apple Reality will eventually look like!
