Apple presents its first animated film: Luck

Apple presents the trailer of its first full-length 3D animated film for Apple TV+. luck

Apple has an exclusive deal with Skydance Animation and the first result of that is the animated movie luck† Streaming exclusively on Apple TV+ from August 5. Today Apple unveiled the trailer for the film.

The film luck is about Sam Greenfield, played by Eva Noblezada. Sam has the worst luck in the world. That changes when she finds a magic coin that makes everything suddenly work. But a bit of bad luck is left behind when she accidentally flushes coin down the toilet.

Through a talking cat she ends up in the Land of Happiness. A factory where all the lucky and unlucky moments in the world are managed. On her adventure, she encounters mythical creatures such as the aforementioned talking cat and a dragon.

Land of Happiness

In the Land of Happiness, everything runs smoothly until Sam shows up. The existing balance between bad luck and happiness is cruelly disturbed by her and that naturally causes the necessary problems.

The studio selected big names such as Whoopi Goldberg, Simon Pegg and Jane Fonda for the voices. All great men and women in Hollywood. In any case, it won’t matter!

The film luck was created for Apple by Skydance Animation. Last year, the two sides signed a deal worth hundreds of millions of dollars a year to make animated films exclusively for Apple. The studio is headed by Pixar veteran John Lasseter who also wrote Toy Story and cars† Incidentally, he was kicked out of Pixar in 2018 for transgressive behavior towards women in the workplace, but that apparently does not bother Apple.

In any case, we are curious whether Skydance Animation can live up to expectations and deliver a top film. Streaming via Apple TV+ from August 5.
