Apple Pay Later is experiencing problems and would be postponed to 2023

It will be necessary to wait a little longer before being able to test Apple Pay Later. According to Mark Gurman of Bloombergthe service is currently experiencing issues and will not arrive until 2023.

Apple announced Apple Pay Later in June, during the WWDC opening keynote including the presentation of iOS 16. The new service will allow you to split a purchase into four equal payments over six weeks and there will be no interest or other charges. Initially, it will be available in the US and Apple hasn’t said anything about international availability.

According to Gurman, Apple meets “fairly significant technical and engineering challenges in deploying the service, which are causing delays.” He says the service might only arrive in spring 2023 with the iOS 16.4 update.

Integrated with Apple’s Cards app and designed with users’ financial health in mind, Apple Pay Later will allow orders to be viewed, tracked and paid for. Users will be able to request to use the Apple Pay Later service at checkout.

As said before, the service will first be a reality in the United States. Unfortunately, Apple remains silent about the arrival in other countries, as is often the case with its services.
