Apple Music and Maps add concert dates and other features
The Apple Music and Maps apps are improving today with new features, especially in concerts. Apple explain that the novelties will “celebrating the joys of live music and giving fans and artists more ways to connect”.
In Maps, more than 40 new guides, all curated by Apple Music editors, highlight the best places to listen to music in some of the world’s major cultural hubs. From iconic symphony halls to cutting-edge techno clubs are all music fans need according to Apple.
Apple Music Guides also allow fans to browse upcoming gigs directly from Maps using Shazam’s gig discovery module. This concerns 10 cities, with Paris, London, Berlin and Vienna for Europe, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York City and San Francisco for the United States, Tokyo for Asia, Sydney for Oceania , and Mexico City for Central America.
On Apple Music, the all-new Set Lists space highlights a selection of great tours, allowing fans to listen to concert-related repertoire and read articles about productions. For the first time on the app, fans can also browse upcoming artists’ concerts in their area by launching Shazam’s concert discovery module.
These new features are available from today according to Apple. This is the band’s second announcement for the day, the first being about accessibility features in iOS 17.
