Apple is quietly withdrawing product from its range
Don’t pass it on. But Apple has quietly withdrawn the LG UltraFine 5K Display from its range.
Apple’s online store does not only offer products from the brand itself. The American tech giant also sells products from partners. Think of high-quality cases from Belkin for the iPhone, or in displays from LG for your Mac. But with the latter there is some news to report. Apple has taken the LG UltraFine 5K Display off the shelves, various media including MacRumors noted.
The screen was available for €1,399. The fact that this display has now disappeared cannot be called a coincidence. Last Tuesday, Apple announced the new Mac Studio, including the Studio Display. Of course, Apple would rather you opt for the Studio Display than a monitor from LG. Completely blaming Apple’s strategy is not fair, because LG no longer sells the screen itself.
Apple’s Studio Display will be available to order from March 18. With standard glass, the screen costs 1,779 euros and if you opt for glass with nano texture, you have to throw 2,029 euros on the table. More expensive than the LG UltraFine 5K Display, but you also get something in return. These include the built-in A13 Bionic chip, three microphones, six speakers and a 12‑MP ultra-wide-angle camera for video calls.
