Apple iPhone event on September 7 – what can you expect?
Mark your calendars: the iPhone 14 will be unveiled on September 7. The event is largely dominated by the new iPhones, but other products are also presented.

Apple unveils iPhone 14 on September 7
Finally the time has come: Apple has sent out the invitations for the iPhone 14 event! The event will take place on September 7 at 7:00 PM Dutch time place and has the slogan ‘Far out’. It’s not clear how long the presentation will take, but Apple usually runs through all the announcements in one to two hours. The keynote can be followed via a live stream on the Apple website and YouTube.
For the first time in three years, it will again be a live keynote at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Campus. The time of completely pre-recorded events is thus over!
The Cupertino company is always tight-lipped, but we expect that the keynote will mainly be dominated by the iPhone 14. The successor to the iPhone 13 has been keeping people busy for a long time. We expect four smartphones again this year: the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 mini will most likely not get a successor.
The new iPhones of 2022
The iPhone 14 and 14 Max are this year’s ‘regular’ iPhones. The standard version will reportedly get a 6.1-inch screen, an improved version of the A15 Bionic chip and will support macro photography. The iPhone 14 Max is new and offers the same, but with a 6.7-inch screen.
The iPhone 14 Pro (6.1-inch) and 14 Pro Max (6.7-inch) are getting more special. It seems that the notch – the notch at the top of the screen – disappears and gives way to two holes in the screen. This is where the front camera and sensors for Face ID are placed. Furthermore, the camera gets a big upgrade to 48-megapixels, which should ensure better photos under poor lighting conditions and special gadgets such as astrophotography. The invitation (see above) already reminds us of this!
What else is Apple announcing?
We’ll call the keynote iPhone 14 event for convenience, but it’s not just about new iPhones. The company is also rumored to unveil the AirPods Pro 2. The predecessor is now three years old and due for an update. According to the latest rumors, the buds will have support for lossless audio, as well as functions to monitor your health.
Also expected: the Apple Watch Series 8 and an Apple Watch Pro. The latter gets a more robust housing (possibly made of Titanium), an even larger screen and a battery that lasts even longer. It is almost certain that these new Apple smartwatches will be unveiled during the keynote. The release date of iOS 16 will also be announced.
