Apple hates leaks. This is why
Little is leaked from Apple. It’s different with other tech giants, but Apple really hates it. And so does something about it.
Apple maintains a strict regime. Leaking is prohibited. Such situations harm the interests of consumers and Apple, according to the company. And, of course, we know the company as notoriously secretive. A letter recently obtained by Motherboard sheds new light on exactly why.
Apple hates leaks
Apple’s “order” – sent by lawyers to a Chinese citizen – states that leaks about iPhone dimensions could mislead case manufacturers. As a result, they could create accessories that are not compatible with the final product. The best man must report his sources to Apple, or they will report him to the police. And having a company like Apple against you (with an army of lawyers they can send to you), that’s not so nice.
Apple puts it this way why they act so hard: “Third-party accessory manufacturers may develop and sell cell phone cases and other accessories that are not really compatible with the unreleased products.” Motherboard notes that the Apple accessories market is estimated to be worth nearly $20 billion worldwide. So it’s a huge market.
Keeping innovation secret is crucial
Keeping Apple’s innovative technology a secret is a very important part of the company’s DNA. The company says it will prevent leaked information so that the company can surprise consumers at launch events. “Apple has made every effort to take strict measures to maintain the confidentiality of all information about Apple’s products before its official release to ensure that every time Apple releases a new product, it can surprise the public.” And the company does that pretty well! In this way they always create a buzz around a new product.
