Apple Co-Founder Surprisingly Enthusiastic About Bitcoin
But not about other cryptos. He has a unique opinion about Bitcoin and why this digital currency will continue to be successful.
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak says Bitcoin is “the only one that is pure gold math”. However, he is concerned that governments could ban Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. “The problem is that governments will never allow it to remain out of their control. If it got to the point where everything is done in crypto and not going through governments for observation and taxation and stuff, governments just wouldn’t allow it. They would not give up their power,” he warned.
Apple Co-Founder Wozniak Praises Bitcoin
The Apple co-founder spoke about cryptocurrency in an interview with the Insider, published last week. He said: There are so many cryptocurrencies coming out now. Everyone has a way of making a new one. It seems like they’re just raising a ton of money from people who want to invest in the very first stage, when it’s worth pennies. He is skeptical of most other cryptocurrencies. In addition, Wozniak is a fan of the metaverse but less enthusiastic about non-fungible tokens (NFTs). He said they are “so high in the sky” for the most part, stressing that they have a track record of being “scammers”.

He has also experienced this himself, only with cryptos. In July 2020, he sued YouTube and Google for promoting Bitcoin giveaway scams using his name and likeness. So without his permission. However, a judge ruled last year that “Youtube and its parent company, Google LLC, are protected by federal law that shields internet platforms from responsibility for content posted by users.”
