Apple: Steve Wozniak strengthens against Steve Jobs

The relationship between Apple founders Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs is often described as problematic. In an interview with CNBC, Wozniak reaffirmed that these are people with fundamentally different views. According to him Jobs wasn’t a natural leader to begin with. The focus on marketing and communications came about because Wozniak felt Jobs just wasn’t a good engineer.

As a former Apple CEO and co-founder, Jobs has often been hailed as a great communicator and businessman for his legendary performances on stage at Apple events. But Jobs wasn’t always a born showman, says Wozniak. Also the Dealing with people in his closest environment was sometimes problematic.

“He learned a lot of marketing principles because he wasn’t really capable of designing computer hardware and software,” explains Wozniak. “He had to find other areas to make himself important” (source: CNBC). Over time, Jobs then became “most important communicator and decision maker” developed. According to Wozniak, Jobs’ real talent was making devices like the iPhone extremely user-friendly. Jobs has made technology much less confusing overall.
