Apple announces the end of “My Photo Stream” for July 2023
Apple says the free “My Photo Stream” feature in connection with iCloud will end on July 26, 2023. The service debuted in 2011 with iCloud.
This is the end for “My Photo Stream”
The “My Photo Stream” feature lets you access the latest photos you’ve taken with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or uploaded from your Mac or PC. Photos are stored for 30 days.
Apple then launched iCloud Photos. We find photos and videos in full resolution with synchronization between the devices. The only limit is the iCloud storage capacity of your subscription.
Here is whatannouncement Apple:
My Photo Stream is scheduled to end on July 26, 2023.
As part of this transition, uploads of new photos to My Photo Stream from your devices will stop one month prior, on June 26, 2023. Any photos uploaded to this service prior to this date will remain in iCloud for 30 days from from the date they are uploaded and will be available on all your devices that currently have My Photo Stream enabled. On July 26, 2023, there will be no photos left in iCloud, and the service will stop.
The photos in My Photo Stream are already stored on at least one of your devices, so as long as you have the device with the originals, you won’t lose any photos as part of this process. If a photo isn’t already in your library on a particular iPhone, iPad, or Mac, be sure to save it to your library on that device.
In the future, iCloud Photos will be the best option for syncing the photos and videos you take across all of your devices and storing them securely in iCloud.
