Apple announces Operation: Tradeboma new podcast that will focus on the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. There will be nine episodes in total, with the first two available January 9.
Eight years before 9/11, investigators from New York’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), a ragtag team of FBI paper-pushers and NYPD detectives, found themselves conducting a new kind of investigation. international investigation, which they called Operation Tradebom. A group of men detonated a bomb in the garage below the World Trade Center with the intention of knocking the North Tower into the South Tower. At the time, it was the largest improvised explosive device ever detonated on American soil, leaving behind a five-story 30-meter-deep crater. The explosion killed six people and injured thousands. But that story was overshadowed by what followed: 9/11, two Gulf Wars and an endless war in Afghanistan.
