App of the Week – Ultimate Facts makes you a little smarter every day

This app contains all kinds of funny, informative and fascinating facts. In this App of the Week we discuss what you can expect from it.

Ultimate Facts

When you download Ultimate Facts, the app immediately wants to know which topics you find interesting: babies, animals, cars, you name it. You can tick or remove all kinds of subjects without limit. You will then find a scrollable list in the app with all the facts about those topics. Sometimes that is very extensive: for example that story about Mr Lamborghini, but sometimes it is just a rule, for example to indicate what the strongest material on earth is.

You can also get those facts sent to you via a push notification that even has the option to take over your entire lock screen. Then you can read the fact and indicate that you have done so. Then it disappears again. You can also read more about it if you’re not done learning yet. In the end, that’s what this app is all about: finding out all kinds of facts about a variety of topics. Handy to know, especially if you like to play a game of Triviant or want to be a smartass against that friend who always brags with his knowledge.

Facts, facts and more facts

The app looks good and is very clear. You can save favorite facts, adjust which topics you want to see facts about and set those push notifications. You can receive a maximum of 15 per day and a minimum of 1, where you can choose whether it is only in the morning, afternoon, evening or night. Or several times of course. I had it on 10 a day and that is quite intense, although it also depends on how often you check your phone. If you don’t do that very often, you’ll get a fact like this every time, unless you set it less fanatically.

Still, it’s nice to get this kind of information automatically pushed. I also have the idea that the app does not repeat itself: at least that did not happen during the few days that I used it. So if you want to brush up on your knowledge without putting in too much effort, Ultimate Facts might be an app for you. Plus, you don’t have to keep it on your phone for the rest of your life: you can also do it for a while.
