app crashes on startup

On Wednesday morning, problems arose with the WhatsApp chat app. The app crashes on startup. The problem occurs worldwide, and the cause is unknown.

WhatsApp malfunction

Androidworld reader Dio informs us early this morning WhatsApp is not working for many users. The app immediately crashes on startup and Dio immediately went to investigate: “If you turn off WiFi and clear the Whatsapp cache, you can use the app. As soon as you turn WiFi back on, the app crashes.” Unfortunately, this turns out not to work.

Complaints about this problem are pouring in on Reddit and that also applies to Allestoringen.nl. Many WhatsApp users go to Twitter to find fellow victims. Redditor ArnyminerZ· has found a solution that works for him. He installed a previous version of WhatsApp via APKMirror.

At the editorial office, the chat app keeps crashing with one person and it works properly with the other. So it seems that not everyone experiences the same problems. WhatsApp has not yet responded to the outage. It is therefore unknown what the cause is and how long the outage will last.

Are you a WhatsApp user and does the app crash for you too? Have you already found a solution? Let us know in the poll and comments.
