Another postponed game is the psychological horror Returnal -apkrig

Do you remember our series about the most anticipated games of this year? From the point of view of the mentioned release dates, it still aspires to be the most useless series that we have prepared for you this year, and unfortunately a lot of what we have stated in it is no longer valid. A whole host of games have been postponed, from Outriders, through Stronghold or Riders Republic, to the Hogwarts Legacy, and as you can see, the list is getting longer. We can only freshly add to it the psychological horror Returnal from the Housemarque studio, the authors of Resogun or Super Stardust.

The information appeared on social networks a few minutes ago, stating that the developers, together with Sony, have decided to make a difficult but important decision. The exclusive title for the PlayStation 5 was supposed to arrive on March 19, but the developers are counting on it until the very end of April. “Returnal has a new release date – April 30, 2021. Sony and Housemarque postpone the release so that the development team has enough time to further fine-tune the game to ensure the highest possible quality that players expect from the studio,” the statement said on Twitter.

Regardless of the difficult situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the delay is quite surprising, but it may also have some connection with the fact that Returnal differs significantly from previous study projects in its form. Previously, mostly arcade games with simple graphics are replaced in Returnal by a visually rich third person action, which is also based on the roguelike genre and promises a story influenced by a recurring time loop. Pilot Selene must find out exactly where she is and understand how the planet works through an endless cycle of dying and revival. From the available videos and pictures, however, it is clear that Housemarque did not forget the special effects and the result might not be bad at all.
