Android security update May 2022: brings 37 patches

A new month, a new security patch. Google has released a new security update for Android. Logically, that has become the security update of May, again containing dozens of vulnerabilities that are being addressed. There are also improvements for the Pixel devices.

Security update May 2022 has been prepared by Google. In the coming days and weeks, the manufacturers will start working on this to optimize this update for their devices. Manufacturers sometimes add their own patches on top of Google’s patches. The fifth security update of this year brings a total of 37 patches, distinguishing on several aspects. For example, not every patch is for every device, and this depends, for example, on the type of processor used or the Android version. The patches in the May update are aimed at devices with Android 10 and higher.

The May update also brings some improvements for the Pixel devices. For example, an issue has been fixed where the screen would occasionally activate spontaneously, without any reason. In addition, for the Pixel 6 series, the haptic feedback has been improved under certain circumstances, and the launcher crashes on the Pixel devices should no longer occur at certain times.
