Android Auto gets voice-controlled games, that’s how it works
Google announced a number of new functions for its apps on Wednesday evening, including the ability to play simple games via the Google Assistant and Android Auto.
Games for Android Auto
In addition to the wallpapers that Android Auto users can select, there will also be the option to play games. These are not Stadia adventure games but simple audio games that can be started in the car with a Google Assistant voice command. Google explains that the games are for the longer rides where you and your passengers can enjoy themselves with voice activated games like Trivia Crack and Jeopardy! The first is a knowledge quiz and in the second game you have to guess the question for an answer. To get started with these games, simply say ‘Hey Google, play a game’.
It seems that these games are made with the same foundation as the games that you can play on smart screens and speakers via the Google Assistant. Google says this new feature will be available on compatible smartphones and cars “in the coming days.” Google also announced a new ‘privacy screen’ that lets you control what content appears on your Android Auto display.
Android Auto also recently gained support for helpful Google Assistant shortcuts, and Flitsmeister is now included in the automotive operating system. In addition, the Google Assistant in the car no longer speaks your apps in poor Dutch. As soon as you can play the games in Android Auto, we would like to hear and see it via this e-mail address (including screenshot).
