Android 14 Developer Preview 1 released by Google

Google has released the first test version of Android 14 earlier than expected. In total there will be six test versions of Android 14 and now it is the turn of Developer Preview 1, which you can use immediately if you have a Pixel device.

Google indicates that a total of two Developer Preview versions will appear. After that it is the turn of four beta versions. From the third beta, specific work will be done on the stability of the platform. Some functions may be added and disappear in the near future.

Google is making the first Developer Preview version available as a test version for the Pixel 4a 5G and above. This means that ‘the standard’ Pixel 4a will not receive the update to Android 14. If you want to get started, it is good to know that this Developer Preview is not recommended for daily use, simply because the software may still contain errors.
