Many fans have had to wait a long time, but since July we really know when the series is coming. The fantasy series The Wheel of Time is based on the books of the same name by Robert Jordan. The series has to attract a lot of viewers, so Amazon Prime is aiming high.

The first images appeared a few months ago. But now the streaming service has put a trailer on YouTube in the run-up to the launch. This gives us an idea of what to expect. And it looks good.
For the non-readers among us: the series is about a fantasy world where there are two kinds of magic. There is a male magic called Saidin. Of course there is also a female magic, Saidar. The writer Jordan has written no fewer than fourteen books about this. Enough inspiration for a series. In the books we follow Moiraine, who is a member of the powerful women’s organization Aes Sedai. The Aes Sedai track down men who can use magic. Long ago, that magic was affected by the Dark One, driving most men who can use magic insane.
That is also a task of Moiraine. But when she arrives in the village of Two Rivers, she finds herself in a dangerous adventure with five young men and women. And one of the people in this party would be the Dragon Reborn, who saves or destroys humanity.

The Dark One is the villain who once caused the magic of the men to be tainted. The series will be available on November 19. A really nice autumn series. Already warmed up?
